A training program on “Energy Efficiency and Consumption Reduction” for school energy officers at GJU

The German Energy Academy (GEA) in Jordan in cooperation with the Community Service Division at the German Jordanian University (GJU), conducted a specialized training program titled “Energy Efficiency and Consumption Reduction” for school energy officers on 24–25 November 2025 at GJU’s main campus in Madaba.

The workshop aimed to build the capacities of school staff responsible for managing energy files, in line with national efforts to enhance energy efficiency and promote responsible energy consumption across educational institutions.

Nearly ninety teachers from the Naour Education Directorate participated in the program, receiving both theoretical knowledge and practical guidance on improving energy efficiency and reducing consumption in schools. The training covered actionable steps to help educational institutions lower their electricity use whether in lighting, air-conditioning, or cooling systems. Participants also received a simple explanation of the energy label on electrical appliances and how to use it to choose more efficient devices with lower energy consumption.

At the end of the program, the participants received a questionnaire designed to measure the practical application of what they had learned. The questionnaire included actionable steps that support the transfer of training outcomes into real implementation within their institutions, enhancing the overall impact of the acquired skills and knowledge.
