German Energy Academy in Jordan presented itself at a high-level experts roundtable at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD)

On the sidelines of this year’s 11th Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD) at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin, the German GEA partner German Solar Association (BSW) and its member company RENAC AG organised a high-level expert roundtable on ‘Academic Workforce Development for the Global Energy Transition’.

Participants at the event came from academic institutions, funding organisations such as Misereor and GIZ as well as universities from Brazil, Namibia, Rwanda and Germany. Representatives of the German GEA partners BSW and ideas into energy presented the concept and the successes already achieved by the German Energy Academy in Jordan. The participants agreed that international cooperation and the exchange of experience in the training of skilled workers for the energy transition is an important pillar of long-term success. Industry representatives emphasized the fact that the demand for skilled workers particularly in Europe will further rise in the coming years due to demographic changes and rising demand for renewables.
