This Training Program is aiming to empower refugees and Jordanian youth skills among Job-seeking, to raise their capabilities and skills in electric automotive sector to find jobs in Jordan or abroad through the innovative solution to increase access to quality education. Expanding their capabilities by exposing them to theoretical and more importantly: practical knowledge relevant to stakeholders and the local and global labor market, going beyond the 3-month training journey for each group, and undergoing more than 240 hours of intensive, hybrid practical training and experience within the academy and specialized companies that lead to improving livelihoods.
The project aims to equip trainees the skills and knowledge to maintain Hybrid/ Electrical Vehicles, including the techniques that are required by semiskilled technicians to join the labor market. Trainees receive EV certification from an accredited body to enhance their employability in the job market. Also, Trainees are equipped to enter the job market as EV technicians, supporting Jordan’s green transition.

Target Audience: Technicians and students of electrical, mechanical, and energy engineering. The course content will be offered at an introductory level, serving as an important first step in preparing any technician or engineer to enter the field of (H/EV).

Prerequisites:

  • Nationality: Jordanian from host communities (50%) or refugees (50%)
  • Age group: 20-30
  • Employment status: Professionals, technicians, or engineers
  • Not employed or registered with social security
  • Educational Background: Hold High-school technical degree, a Diploma or BSc degree in a related field or have an electromechanical background.

Expected Outcomes: By the end of this course, attendees will be able to meet the professional Jordanian and
International competency standards for the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Field and profession, specifically:

  1.  Enhance job seekers’ employability in green sectors
  2. Jordan code for electric car charging stations and code requirements
  3. Health and safety of HV/ EV
  4. Economics of electric cars and drivers
  5. EV gird integration
  6. Installation of domestic chargers
  7. Installation of heavy-duty chargers

 

Topics: By the end of this course, attendees – in accordance with the Jordanian professional
competency standards for the profession of electric vehicle technicians – will be trained on the following topics:

  • Unit 2: Automotive electronics
  • Unit 3: Automotive Mechanics
  • Unit 4: Modern Automotive Transmissions
  • Unit 5: Diagnosis tools 
  • Unit 6: HV/EV fundamentals and theory
  • Unit 7: Hybrid Layout
  • Unit 8: EV Layout
  • Unit 9: HV/ EV Battery
  • Unit 10: HV/ EV Battery Charger
  • Unit 11: HV/ EV Motor Generators
  • Unit 12: HV/ EV Inverters
  • Unit 13: HV/ EV power Split Device
  • Unit 14: Final Drive and Axles
  • Unit 15: Electronic Brakes
  • Unit 16: Airconditioning System
  • Unit 17: Electric Power Steering
  • Unit 18: Diagnosis and Trouble Shooting

 

Accredited Training Hours: The total course duration is 240 accredited training hours, consisting of around 80 hours of theoretical training and 160 hours of practical training (including field visits).

Evaluation Criteria: A certificate of completion
will be awarded based on attendance of at least 80% of the total
course time and successful completion of the final assessment.
